Stormy Weather

*sings* ... keeps raining all the time!

But I shan't complain because I'm really starting to appreciate the convenience of Singapore's weather! Nothing beats being able to wear whatever I want out. Pulling on and pulling off layers of coats whenever I head outdoors/indoors, walking around with an extra 2 kg of cloth on, having to check the temperature EVERY morning before I head out to know whether it's gonna be a nice still cold day or a freaking tornado - whew.

Then again, I'll have something else to say when this weather stops and it starts getting all hot and humid. I'll take my words back in 2 months' time!

On John's last day in Singapore, we had lunch at Hippopotamus at Marina Square. It's a chain from Paris, and they serve ALL kinds of steak! Good prices and the flavour is damn good! I'm not in the habit of taking pictures of food when I'm in Singapore, so... I only snapped a shot of our foie gras.

It was my first taste of foie gras, on perfectly toasted bread. If you didn't tell me it was a mash-up of duck's liver, I would probably have made it a favourite food of mine! But, it remains a mash-up of duck's liver, and I can't get that out of my head.

Had a great dinner with the girls at Boat Quay last night - Teri brought us to L'Operetta! Italian restaurants opened by Japanese people seem to be the trend now (Saizeriya, for one) The pizzas were yummy, with an AMAZING dough base. Again, I have no habit of taking food pictures in Singapore, so here's one of Shermin and I with the nice Singapore river and Parliament House in the background:

I'm actually not a foodie person. I know I was damn enthusiastic about my food and the restaurants in NYC! The fact that the restaurants were astounding is one thing, but I'm lured more by the romance of being a foodie in New York City (as John puts it)!

Oh well. Off for my reunion dinner!

PS: The CNY music in every single freaking shop in Singapore is driving. me. nuts.
